This versatile PDA from HP features a 4 inch active matrix TFT screen (capable of 640 X 480 resolution), a Intel XScale PXA270 624MHz processor. There is 128MB ROM and 64MB RAM.
This can be expanded via the traditional SD card route.
With a width of 77mm and a height of 131mm the device will fit neatly in your shirt pocket, although it's symetrical shape isn't as ergonomic as some, the sleek silver design fits in well with the HP iPAQ family - the big screen is a great addition and is bright and colorfull and responds well.
The main controls are below the screen and the HX4700 features a touchpad style control, the top of the device features the power button, expansion slots and headphone socket.
Wi-Fi ready (802.11b) with bluetooth and infrared - the HX4700 has plenty of connectivity options (for activesync the device is also USB 1.1 compatable).
The windows Mobile PC 2003 edition features the usual run of Mobile Office Apps and the Lithium Ion Battery promises 4 Hours continuous use with all the bells and whistles turned on - however usual rules apply to conserve battery life (backlight and wi-fi on when you need them.)
